Centroid

A 2013 Xbox Live Indie Game, rebuilt. Thirty levels. Four biomes. Find a gun. Chunk some grubs.

Side-scrolling platformer-shooter. Woods, city night, mountains in the rain, then the crater. Play it alone, or with up to four on one machine.

A short look

The opening, then a few seconds in the woods. Sound stays off until you press play.

The campaign

The woods: pines, lit ground, and Centroids on the ledges.
Woods
City night: a weapon flashlight on the street.
City night
Mountains: rain over pines and snow peaks.
Mountains
Crater: dark impact stacks and a long drop.
Crater

Woods, the city at night, the mountains, and the crater. Twenty-six more levels sit between them.

Solo

One campaign. Woods, then the city at night, then the mountains, then the crater. Two acts, one game.

You carry the gun, the city flashlight, and the score. The run ends when you fall and there is no checkpoint.

On the couch

The same thirty levels, on one machine, with friends on the couch. Someone plugs in a pad in the lobby and they are in. Two, three, or four people, each with their own view and their own score. The clear screen adds those scores together. One save.

In a mini-boss pit everyone gets a chain gun, and anyone still outside is brought in before the fight. On city night each player has a flashlight. If you fall, you come back next to a friend who is still up. The run ends only when the last one falls.

Same room, same TV. No online play.
